Gelenek\u00e7iler mevcut d\u00fczenin korunmas\u0131ndan yana bir tutum sergilerken, modernistler yenilik ve reform fikrine daha a\u00e7\u0131kt\u0131r. Yenilenmeciler ise iki yakla\u015f\u0131m aras\u0131nda denge kurarak hem modern de\u011ferleri dikkate al\u0131r hem de \u0130slam\u2019\u0131n \u00f6z\u00fcne d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fc savunurlar. Ancak Dr. Kurey\u015f\u00ee\u2019ye g\u00f6re bu s\u0131n\u0131fland\u0131rmalar\u0131n s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 \u00e7o\u011fu zaman belirsizdir; dolay\u0131s\u0131yla her d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr veya yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 kesin bi\u00e7imde tek bir kategoriye yerle\u015ftirmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcn de\u011fildir.<br>D\u0131\u015far\u0131dan yap\u0131lan tasniflerin aksine, \u0130slam d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesinin kendi i\u00e7inden do\u011fan s\u0131n\u0131fland\u0131rmalar da bulunmaktad\u0131r. \u00d6rne\u011fin;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gelenek\u00e7ilik (Traditionalism): \u0130slam \u00fcmmetinin kendi i\u00e7 dinamiklerinden do\u011fan d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce \u00e7izgisidir. Bu kapsamda i\u00e7tihad meselesi, tasavvuf ve Kur\u2019an ile hadis metinlerinin k\u00fclt\u00fcrel ba\u011flamda yorumlanmas\u0131 gibi hususlar yer al\u0131r.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modernizm (Modernism): \u0130nsan\u0131n d\u00fcnyay\u0131 kontrol alt\u0131na alma iste\u011fiyle geli\u015fen ideolojik yakla\u015f\u0131mlar\u0131 ifade eder. Kapitalizm, Darwinizm ve Liberalizm gibi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce ak\u0131mlar\u0131 bu \u00e7er\u00e7evede de\u011ferlendirilir.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postmodernizm (Postmodernism): Ger\u00e7ekli\u011fin sabit ve de\u011fi\u015fmez olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve hi\u00e7bir \u015feyin \u00f6zsel bir anlam ta\u015f\u0131mad\u0131\u011f\u0131 inanc\u0131na dayan\u0131r. Bu anlay\u0131\u015f, yap\u0131s\u00f6k\u00fcmc\u00fcl\u00fck (deconstructionism), anlat\u0131salc\u0131l\u0131k (narrativism) ve g\u00f6relilik (relativism) gibi teorilerde kendini g\u00f6sterir.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ayr\u0131ca ge\u00e7en haftaki derste ele al\u0131nan \u201c\u00dcmmet \u00c7izgisi (Line of the Ummah)\u201d kavram\u0131na yeniden de\u011finilerek, \u00fcmmetin \u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fcn de\u011fi\u015fmedi\u011fi ancak yorumlanma bi\u00e7iminin zaman i\u00e7inde farkl\u0131la\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 vurgulanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
